Immerse yourself in the authentic life of a local fisherman on this private fishing experience in beautiful Phú Quốc. Guided by an experienced local fisherman with over 30 years of knowledge, along with an English-speaking guide, you’ll discover traditional techniques passed down through generations.
This is a private experience, giving you the chance to live like an island fisherman for a day.
Since it’s a private tour, you won’t be part of a group, which means you can enjoy the trip entirely at your own pace with your family or friends. No need to wait around for others—just a fun, personalized adventure.
You can choose between a morning (7:15-15:00) or afternoon trip (14:30-19:00)
The morning trip offers a more relaxed experience, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the scenery at your own pace.
The afternoon trip is more fast-paced and includes an exciting squid fishing experience, followed by dining as you watch a beautiful sunset aboard our boat.
Because we only offer 1-2 private trips per day, make sure to book early. And since it’s a private tour, the schedule is flexible and can be tailored to fit your family’s needs.
Start Your Day:
- Relax at our floating house located in the peaceful fishing village of Rạch Vẹm.
- Unwind in a hammock surrounded by breathtaking scenery—mountains and sea all around us.
- Enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee or tea
- Visit the local fish farms that sustain the village and listen to stories about the traditional way of life in the area.
Fisherman-for-a-Day Experience:
- Head out on a traditional boat with dad, uncle, or cousin Ân—all experienced fishermen.
- Catch small to medium-sized fish and learn fishing tips and tricks from the locals.
Explore the Waters:
- Try your hand at casting a fishing net as well as diving for sea urchins, snails & scallops.
- Go swim/snorkel and discover the starfish and seagrass ecosystem on the ocean floor along the Vietnam-Cambodia border.
Seafood Lunch on a Private Beach:
- Stop at a private beach and enjoy a seafood lunch featuring the fish you caught as well as any scallops, snails & sea urchins you have collected.
- Enjoy grilled fish, scallops, sea uchin and 3-4 other delicious dishes prepared by mom.
- Savor the experience of eating a meal you helped catch!
After Lunch Activities
- Take a refreshing dive into the water to help chase fish into the fishing net.
- Snack on the newly caught seafood.
We finish up with 1 of 2 activites
- Option 1: Relax at Starfish Beach, known for its soft white sand, beautiful sunsets as well as the many starfish that congregate there.
- Option 2: Return to our floating house, where you can unwind, and even make seashell accessories as a complimentary souvenir.

End of the Trip:

Our Fisherman Experience is priced based on the size of your group, with bigger groups enjoying discounted rates. The more people you bring, the less you pay per person! Prices include all equipment, guidance, and a delicious meal. We also offer special discounts for children. See the details below for group-specific pricing.
