The menu
If you do not know what to order: the fish of the day, the crab fried rice, squid and scallops. That is what most people have and it is what most of the reviews are about.
Every price we charge is on this page and on the printed menu at your table. Nothing gets added, and nothing gets weighed differently once you’ve ordered.

Fishing Village Combo
750,000₫
Per adult · roughly $30 · minimum 2 people
Five dishes and a drink, plus the round-trip boat to Starfish Beach with no time limit, optional activities such as fishing and snorkelling from the house.
Which one fits your group
Any group of two or more, and you want the beach: the Combo. 750,000₫ each covers the boat, the food and the drink.
A group of four or five, and you are not going to the beach: the family set. It works out cheaper per person than the Combo and there is more food.
Two of you, no beach: order from the menu. You will spend less than either set. We would rather tell you that than sell you a package you did not need.

How long the food takes
Nothing is cooked before you order it. That is why the fish tastes the way it does, and it is also why a whole grouper is not quick.

The grouper is alive in our fishfarm until you order it. Then it has to be caught, gutted and prepared. There is no faster way to do that.
Going to Starfish Beach? Order before you get on the boat.
Tell us what you want, get on the boat, and the food is on the table when you walk back over the bridge. Boats go out until 17:00 and the last one back from the beach is 17:45.
We don’t pre-cook anything. Everything is prepared fresh the moment you order, so you get the most flavor from the sea.
Where the food comes from
Three generations of one family, on a house built over the water 200 m off the shore.
The fish farm is attached to the bridge you walked over, with baskets in the water for the snails and scallops. It comes out when you order it.
Every table looks out at the water and the mountains. There are hammocks, and nobody will rush you.
Mum still cooks everything. The scallops and snails come in like this from the fishermen in Rạch Vẹm, or from our own farm on the bridge.
The house is 100 m out to sea, reached by a wooden bridge. It is stable — no seasickness — but it is a real wooden bridge, uneven in places, so take it slowly with small children.

Getting here
Nhà Trên Biển – Joy Adventures, Rạch Vẹm, Gành Dầu, Phú Quốc. About 30 minutes north of Dương Đông.
Read this before you get in a taxi. Some taxi and Grab drivers get a commission for bringing tourists to a different restaurant, and will tell you we are closed, full, or hard to reach. It is not true. Tell your driver firmly: Nhà Trên Biển – Joy Adventures, Rạch Vẹm. As you come into the village, people may wave you down and try to take you to their own boat. Keep going until you see our sign. If a driver will not take you, call +84 703 397 404 and we will sort it out.

Hard to get one back, so ask us and we will book a driver who waits for you.

100 m. Order before you take the boat and your food is ready when you get back.
Come and eat
You can turn up any day between 8:00 and 18:30 without booking. But if you tell us you are coming, we buy for you, and the table by the water is yours.
