Order anything extra and it goes on a separate bill. The 750,000₫ itself doesn’t change.
The six dishes
Two peoples share of the combo. Cooked by Mum and the staff in the kitchen.
- Fish of the day – fried with fresh tomato or grilled with homemade pepper sauce/garlic and chili

Seafood comes from the fishermen in the village and from the pens along our bridge. Tell us if anyone has an allergy before you order.
Want to try lobster?
The Lobster Combo

The same day — the same boat, the same beach, the same six dishes. We swap the crab or prawns for lobster.
- One lobster, about 250 g, per adult
- Steamed, or fried in garlic butter — your choice
- Everything else in the combo stays the same
Lobster is one per adult. Children’s portions don’t include it, but you can add an additional lobster for 400,000₫.
It’s not a tour
No schedule, no group and no guide. Arrive any time between 8:00 and 16:00 and do the day in whatever order suits you.
Beach first
Order your food, go straight out on the boat, and we will prepare it while you’re away. Hot on the table when you get back.
Eat first
Have lunch over the water, then take the boat out in the afternoon when the beach is quiet and the light is better.
No firm pick-up time, either way
You get a wristband with our phone
number — when you’re ready to come back, please call us and the boat
comes for you. Most people spend an hour or two at the beach.
Around the floating house
All of these optional activities are already included the price. What you actually do depends on the tide and the weather that day
Goggles provided. You dive down around the pens and bring up what you find — then we cook it or open it for you.
A line, a lure and bait. There are plenty of small fish around the floating house.
What we do instead of snorkeling when the sea is rough. The kids usually don’t want to leave.
There are plenty of activities and things to explore around our floating restaurant, whether it’s catching fish or seeing the massive grouper in our fish farms.
Honestly: when the sea is rough we can’t snorkel safely, and we won’t pretend otherwise. On those days the shell workshop replaces it and we tell you when you arrive.

Photos of your family
Ask any of the staff and they’ll take photos of you on the bridge, on the
boat or at your table. It costs nothing and we rather enjoy it.
At Starfish Beach
The starfish live here. They’re not put out for photos, and they don’t survive being handled. Four things we ask.
Don’t lift a starfish out of the water
A few seconds in the air can kill them. This is the one that matters most.
Photograph them where they are
They’re in clear, shallow water. The photo is better with the water in it anyway
Watch where you put your feet
They sit on the sand and they’re easy to stand on without noticing.
Dont leave your rubbish on the beach
There are places to dispose of rubbish on the beach
Want to snorkel at the beach? Tell us before you get on
the boat so we bring the masks with us.
I was a bit skeptical about visiting Rạch Vẹm due to bad reviews of hard selling boat rides. But oh boy, let me tell you. The experience that we had at Joy Adventures is nothing but exceptional. Just 750K/pax and you get a free ride to and fro Star fish beach and a 5-course lunch + drink at your own timing.

We called ahead to reserve a table, and upon arrival, after getting our table, a speedboat from the floating restaurant took us to the beach with starfish. When we wanted to leave, we just called a speedboat to pick us up, and the food was ready right away – very fresh and well-prepared. Our family went for the 750k VND/person combo, which included everything.

The food on the raft is delicious, the price is 750k VND/person including the speedboat to Rach Vem. When you arrive, you’ll see other rafts inviting you in, but I told them I had booked a house on the sea and the staff even showed me where to go – so sweet! After eating, you can relax in a hammock or go fishing.

Before you come
Booking
Message us on WhatsApp with the day and how many people. Walk-ins are fine too, but a message helps us make sure we have a table available for you
Paying
Pay in full online by card, or message us and hold your table with 50,000₫ per person and pay the rest at the counter. Either way it’s the same total.
Weather
May to November the sea changes fast. Message us that morning and we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s a good day. Easy to move to another day.
Getting here
Nhà Trên Biển – Joy Adventures, Rạch Vẹm, Gành Dầu, Phú Quốc. About 30 minutes north of Dương Đông. Taxis can be hard to find for the trip back, so ask us and we’ll book a driver who waits.
Read this before you get in a taxi
Some taxi and Grab drivers get a commission for taking tourists to a different restaurant, and will tell you we’re closed, full, or too hard to reach. It isn’t true. Tell your driver firmly: Nhà Trên Biển, Rạch Vẹm. As you come into the village people may wave you down and try to take you to their own boat. Keep going until you see our sign. If a driver won’t take you, call +84 703 397 404 and we’ll sort it out.
Questions
Can one person do the combo?
The combo is for two people or more. On your own, message us — you can still visit and take the boat on its own and order from the menu.
What if the weather is bad?
If the sea is too rough for the boat we’ll tell you the same morning. Come another day, or come just to eat. If you’ve paid the deposit and we cancel, you get it back.
What if we don’t eat seafood?
Tell us when you book and we will try to accommodate you. Worth saying that most of what you’re paying for is seafood, so the combo may not be good value for you.
Do you pick us up from the hotel?
Pickup is not included, but we know several drivers and can arrange one who waits for you and takes you back. Message us and we’ll give you the price before you agree to anything.
Can we swim from the floating house?
Yes, and plenty of people do. Snorkelling around our floating house
is part of the combo when the water is calm enough.
Can i do join the seashell jewelry workshop?
The workshop is only available when the weather is to not suitable for water activities like snorkeling.
